Silver Cloud Tulip Bulbs – 12 Count

Soft, smoky, and beautifully understated, Silver Cloud is a tulip for anyone drawn to the quieter colors of spring. Its blooms open in muted lavender, dusty mauve, and silvery lilac, with subtle shifts in tone as the flowers mature and move through different light.

There is something almost hazy about its coloring. Rather than reading as a traditional purple tulip, Silver Cloud has a greyed, antique quality that makes it incredibly useful for creating softer, muddier palettes in the garden. Its classic cup-shaped blooms and elegant stems keep the flower simple, allowing that unusual color to be the focus.

Planted in groups, it creates a beautiful wash of smoky lavender. Mixed into other spring flowers, it becomes a bridge between blush, cream, plum, copper, and deeper burgundy tones.

Planting Instructions

Plant bulbs in autumn once soil temperatures have cooled and before the ground freezes. Choose a location with well-drained soil and full sun. Plant bulbs approximately 6–8 inches deep and 4–6 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and allow winter to provide the chilling period needed for spring blooms.

Why We Love It

Silver Cloud feels like a pause between all the louder colors of spring. The lavender isn't quite purple, the pink isn't quite pink, and that little wash of grey over everything is what makes it so beautiful.

We love it with nearly-black tulips like Queen of Night and Black Hero, but it is just as beautiful beside creamy narcissus, soft blush, antique apricot, and copper tones. Silver Cloud is one of those varieties that helps everything planted around it make a little more sense—a soft, smoky in-between color for a more layered spring garden.
